Korean Hamer Guitar Serial Numbers

Don't register there-that's a dead link. I maintain (and always have since the beginning in 1996) the Hamer Registry. What is posted on the site is just a fraction of what I have registered, I just have never found anyone able to properly set it up.

Email me directly to add a guitar. Hamer had two serial number systems: Four Digit serials and the standard production serials. Four Digit serials started with '0000' (Rick Nielsen's sunburst Standard) and ran to about 0750 between 12/74 and 1985. The production numbers started in 1977 with the introduction of the Sunburst model '7 0000'. The first digit is the second digit of the production year and the rest of the serial indicates the Hamer production number. Production is very limited now (basically all custom orders like it was in the beginning) and the numbers are something like 156000 for a 2011 model. Numbers were originally ink stamped between 1977 and 1987 and with the introduction of bolt-on superstrat models in 1987, they impressed the numbers into the wood, which they continue to do today.

Yours is a 92.

Mine's a Korean with a 7-digit figure SN:-) -d. Re: Hamer closed! Jtees4, 12/12/12 4:22 PM. On Wed, 12 Dec 2012 14:27:28 -0800 (PST), dvaoa com>wrote: I'm pretty sure you can't tell the dates based on the serial numbers of the import models. Those imports are decent guitars for sure.
