For BT I would honestly say skip Emotional Technology (and especially A Song Across Wires), its just not very interesting or innovating as many of his other albums have been. ESCM and These Hopeful Machines are his best pieces of dance music, but I also think that This Binary Universe might possibly be the absolute best piece of electronic music ever composed, and I could not recommend it enough. Just be aware that it is not the Trance BT that everyone knows. Huge upvote for Hybrid though, they are absolutely one of the best in the business and do not get nearly the respect they deserve.
